Girling Jones partnered with Quba Solutions in August 2018 after using a previous provider for four years. Looking for a back office payroll and funding solution, Girling Jones were keen to look for a provider that was offering a more personal service combined with a high end IT solution.
Girling Jones, are a specialist recruitment agency working across three core divisions: Construction, Consultancy and Maintenance recruitment consultants. The agency pride themselves on being different to many agencies, with the core principle of training their staff on the technical aspects of their three core divisions, as well as teaching employees about how to recruit professionally.
What was your initial introduction to Quba?
We had a number of initial meetings to scope out our requirements, which was helpful for both us and Quba to understand our business, the process and how the relationship would work. We also had the pleasure of visiting the Quba offices, which allowed us to get a feel for the set up. Rik and Paul then dedicated their time to come down to our office on the day of our audit. They spent a day training our payroll manager, working through the system and finally spent the day with us on our first new payroll.
How was the transfer?
The transfer was painless and we barely noticed the change. The platform offered at Quba Solutions is simple to use. It has allowed us to generate a number of reports that we were previously completing manually, which as you can imagine required a lot of internal time. Finally the payroll and credit control team are friendly, flexible and proactive giving us confidence our invoicing is in good hands.
Overall thoughts about Quba solutions?
I’m glad to say we’ve hit the nail on the head with the team at Quba. A fabulous first impression and exactly what we were looking for.
We would like to say a big thank you to the Quba Solutions team especially Rik, Ash, Hattie and Rudi who have personally helped us along the way of our business journey. Quba have allowed us to confidently grow and run our business helping to reduce the stress and worry of cash flow, payroll issues and invoicing.
We partnered up with Quba towards the end of 2019 as a start up agency with two members and with the support and services they provide we have been able to expand our team to 10 members within one year. We have no issue recommending Quba to any start up recruitment agency and we look forward to continuing building our relationship with them over the coming years.
When starting a recruitment agency, Quba Solutions have enabled us quickly grow and stabilise our business. Being able to outsource administration and chasing up payments has given us the time to build client relationships and develop industry knowledge. Quba regularly chase payments and keep an eye on debtors and credit limits which free’s up our time to concentrate on the recruitment!

What were your core reasons for partnering with Quba Solutions?
We had numerous issues with our previous partner so we needed to look for another solution. Quba was able to address our immediate issue and also deal with the other issues/frustrations we had with the other supplier. We met with both Jenny & Sam before signing up which was great as they ensured we were armed with all the information needed and had met our key stakeholders at Quba before signing.
What do you think of the DynamiQ dashboard?
Easy to use and provides all the information needed.
How easy is it to get a credit limit for a new client?
Very straightforward & easy. A breath of fresh air in comparison to getting a credit limits and then contracts out with our old supplier.
Do you have a good working partnership with your relationship manager?
Absolutely, Sam is a breath of fresh air. A very effective account manager who can think laterally gets things done. He’s also a good guy to go with it! If Sam isn’t around then everyone else we’ve dealt with have been great and got things done!
What’s your favourite thing that Quba offer since using them?
They offer a very professional service, with a personal touch. From the initial interaction and meeting with Jenny, through to the onboarding and ongoing management by Sam we have been extremely impressed.
Have Quba saved you time and if so how?
With our old supplier, we seemed to spend lots of time going through processes and SLA’s for no reason, which would delay getting contracts out etc and had a negative impact on our client’s experience with us. With Quba, there is no BS, they understand what needs to be done and they go out of their way to ensure our clients and candidates are happy…which ensures we are also happy!
